
Skip Elkin (Democrat) was sworn into office as Boone County's District II Commissioner on January 1, 2001.
After graduating from Hallsville High School, Skip proudly served for four years in the United States Marine Corp. He then graduated in May of 2000 with a B.S. Degree in Marketing from William Woods University. Currently, along with his job as Northern District Commissioner, Skip is serving with the Missouri Army National Guard.
Skip's political career began in Hallsville in 1994 as a committeeman. In 1995, he was elected to the Hallsville City Council.
Skip and his wife Lucy have two beautiful daughters: Kathryn age 21, a senior at the University of Missouri-Columbia; and Alexandra (Alex) age 16, an eleventh grade student at Hallsville Schools.
Since Skip's induction into office, his priorities have been focused on the following issues: establishing a responsible growth for Boone County, infrastructure (which includes roads and sewer) and the Boone County Fairgrounds. Skip also believes in being responsible stewards of tax payer dollars.
